Send off Sunday

This Sunday (August 10) will be an exciting and historic day for Jubilee (seems we have been having a lot of those lately). The reason why is that we will be sending off the Jubilee Church Wentzville crew in prayer as this will be their last Sunday with us before we launch weekly at the Jubilee Church Wentzville location the following Sunday (August 17).

Hope to see you all there!

Wentzville

Last Sunday, Jubilee Church had its 4th of 5 preview service out in Wentzville. The 5th will take place on July 20 leading up to the weekly launch on August 17. I am grateful to God that he is adding people to us from that region of St. Louis. The Heins and the group out there are hard at work to both serve Wentzville and be a witness to the gospel of Jesus.

Recently (June 20th), we hosted a "Thank You Wentzville" for all the public service men and women of Wentzville by providing them a lunch. Local businesses also chipped in on the effort, which was a plus. We had anywhere from 80-100 people attend and we got great reviews from the city employees. One guy told us, "I've worked for the city for 20 years and no one has ever done anything like this for us before." I've included a picture of the event on this blog.

Living With No Regrets - Another Preview at Wentzville

I often think about the moment when my life on earth passes away and I find myself face to face with Jesus. That moment where my life is presented to me and I am judged for how I used what God was so gracious to give me. That moment where the reality that everything of this earth will eventually pass away (cars, home, career, hobbies, leisure) and only the kingdom will remain is crystal clear. I think about that moment in light of what I give myself to today. When I do that it faith arises. When I do that taking risks for the kingdom don't seem like risks anymore. In fact, in those moments it seems like not stepping out in faith as a bigger risk!

I love where Jubilee is living these days. Big dreams, big plans, big payoff, big risk. Tomorrow (5/18) we have another preview at Wentzville. Another step forward in seeking the kingdom payoff versus playing it safe. There is a cost - money, time, resource, energy, emotion, relationship, and the list goes on. Sometimes, that cost captures my thinking. And when it does, I feel retreat creeping into my soul. But when I think about that moment when we are all face to face with Jesus, the reality that it is worth it a 100 times over, floods my soul. Is that where you are living? I hope so. I hope you are living your daily life in light of eternity because if you are, you will live a life of no regrets. That's where Jubilee wants to operate - the no regret zone. And by God's grace we will.

The Scoop on the Wentzville Launch

March 23, 2008 will be a day to remember for Jubilee Church. It was the day that we launched public meetings in a second location (Wentzville location pictured right). The result was a good one - 109 people attended that launch, which means that Jubilee as a whole was nearly 300 that day! Moreover, in both locations, four people for the first time proclaimed belief in our resurrected Jesus!

As I have reflected on Sunday the past 24 hours, I've come to realize that we are living in the good of Ephesians 1:19-20 that says that the same power that raised Christ from the dead in working in us! This supernatural power of God is with us and is the reason why we were able to launch this second location. And through these two gospel outposts of Jubilee, four people's lives were changed forever - this lifetime and the one that follows.
